Chartered Counselling Psychologist
Dr Alan McInerney is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland and British Psychological Society, and an Integrative Psychotherapist with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Alan holds a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University.
Alan has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults experiencing psychological, emotional and neurodevelopmental difficulties, including ADHD, autism, OCD, anxiety and complex presentations. His previous clinical work in Forensic Psychological Services developed particular expertise in comprehensive psychological assessment and complex presentations.
At Pinnacle, Alan provides psychological assessment, diagnostic clarification and therapy, with an approach that is individualised, evidence-informed and focused on practical outcomes.The aim is simple: to provide clarity, understanding and practical support to help clients move forward.
As a Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) – registered practice, many clients may be eligible for partial reimbursement through their private health insurance provider. We provide comprehensive receipts that include:
- PSI registration number
- Full breakdown of services provided
- Clinic and psychologist credentials
We strongly encourage clients to contact their insurer in advance to confirm their individual entitlements.
Psychological assessments may qualify for 20% tax relief under the Med 1 Medical Expenses scheme. Receipts can be submitted via the Revenue MyAccount portal.
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your consultation appointment.
The payments for assessments are then broken down into two equal payments - the first payment is due prior to the first assessment appointment.
The remaining payment is due 48 hours prior to the day of your feedback session.
